Carson-Clark Careers offers a workshop-based program designed to help young adults get off to a strong start in the work world. 

• Segment 1, 2020 Vision, is highly strategic – helping participants define and clarify interests, values, skills, strengths, and to identify career goals and aspirations. 

• Segment 2, High-Octane Career Strategies, is tactical – participants learn how to find -- and keep -- a job.

• An appreciation for their ability to control important aspects of their lives and careers.

2020 Vision : Core Elements

• Self Assessment - prior to the workshop, participants complete a series of questionnaires and assessments. These are designed to help them understand themselves at a much deeper level.  

• Peer interaction and teaching in a group setting allows the participant to learn not only from the leaders but also from their peers.  During the day-long workshop, they will learn to apply their newfound insights to the world of work.  Most participants find reassurance in knowing that they are not the only ones feeling confused about career direction.  Fast-paced teaching, interactive activities, and video clips keep the day moving quickly and the participants engaged.

High-Octane Career Strategies : Outcomes

• An arsenal of techniques and skills to get a leg-up in the work world, including professional resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search strategies, and networking skills.

• Participants are equipped to market themselves in a competitive environment and economic downturns.

• An understanding of how their view of the work world may differ from that of their employer.

• The confidence to achieve more than they would have on their own.

High-Octane Career Strategies : Core Elements

• Resume writing and critiquing by expert career coaches.

• Refining communication skills, including interview fundamentals and preparation of sharp and concise answers to complex interview questions.

• Market readiness, including marketing plans, networking strategies, and targeted job searches.
